About this Item:
Meyer Lansky (July 4, 1902 – January 15, 1983), known as the "Mob's Accountant", authentic original vintage handwritten (in an unknown hand) single page bet slip. Slip measures approximately 5.5 x 14" in size. Fine vintage condition, folded.
Lansky was a major organized crime figure who, along with his associate Charles "Lucky" Luciano, was instrumental in the development of the "National Crime Syndicate" in the United States. For decades Lansky was thought to be one of the most powerful individuals in the country.
This bet slip originates from the personal property of Julius Rosengard an accountant for the Mob. Included is a copy of an unrelated letter from Julius Rosengard, included to establish provenance as to the archive of documents this slip originates from.
Accompanied by a modern digitally printed 8x10 display photograph (Attorney E. David Rosen, right, in his office with reputed mafia financier Meyer Lansky, left, in 1982)
